Metallized Films

PennPac offers metallized BOPP films as well as metallized Polyester and CPP films.

Metallized films are polymer films coated with a thin layer of metal, usually aluminum. They give it the glossy metallic appearance of aluminum foil at a reduced weight and cost. The aluminum is heated and evaporated under vacuum conditions, and it adheres to the film surface. Metallized films demonstrate high barrier against oxygen and water vapor and find extensive use in manufacturing packaging material for products that require extended shelf life.

PennPac offers metallized films to meet our customers’ specifications, while reducing the permeability of the film to light, water and oxygen. The film also creates a highly reflective, mirror-like finish. Applications include flexible food packaging for products that require extended shelf life, in addition to a variety of applications for the textile and capacitor industries.
