Key uses for flexible film sheets:

Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) sheets are widely used for packaging purposes due to their excellent protective properties.

  • Flexible Packaging: Firstly, film sheets are commonly used for flexible packaging applications such as; food packaging (snacks, confectionery, dry food, etc.), pharmaceutical packaging, and packaging for personal care products. They provide excellent barrier properties against moisture, gases, and odors. Thus, helping to extend the shelf life of  packaged products.
  • Labeling: Secondly, sheets can be used for labeling applications in industries like food and beverage, health and beauty, and pharmaceuticals. They provide a printable surface that can be customized with product information, dating, branding, and labeling.
  • Lamination: Additionally, BOPP sheets are often used in lamination processes to enhance the strength, durability, and appearance of packaging materials. Sheets can be laminated to paper, cardboard, or other films to provide added protection and/or aesthetic appeal.
  • Tape: Sheets are widely used as a backing material for adhesive tapes due to their strength, flexibility, and resistance to tearing and puncturing. BOPP tapes find applications in packaging, sealing, bundling, and various other industrial and household uses.
  • Decoration: For instance, sheets can be metallized or coated with special finishes to create decorative effects for packaging materials, labels, and other applications. Decorative films are used in industries such as cosmetics, gifts, and luxury goods.
  • Wrapping: Flexible film sheets are commonly used for wrapping products such as; cigarettes, CDs, DVDs, and other consumer goods. They provide a clear, glossy finish and excellent seal properties, making them suitable for wrapping individual items or bundles.  Further, BOPP film sheets can be customized in terms of size, thickness to meet requirements of floral designers. They can be tailored to fit different types of flower arrangements.
    • Many times, sheets are used in convenience store kiosks for individually wrapped, made to order (MTO) sandwiches and snacks. Using sheets in this application offers, barrier, salability, protection, and transparent shelf presence for perishable products.
