In addition to sheeting and custom roll slitting services, did you know PennPac also offers contract film slitting services?
This type of film-slitting service is designed for customers that have their own material inventory but are facing operational inefficiencies or production backlogs when it comes to their internal slitting operations. Working with PennPac takes the burden off their slitting resources. Below are 3 things you should know about PennPac’s contract film slitting services.
#1 – Highly Competitive Lead Times
PennPac is recognized throughout the flexible film packaging industry for our highly competitive lead times.
Custom slit orders can typically be turned around in 2 weeks or less, and customers that are part of our Inventory Stocking Program can receive next-day releases. The program is a smart inventory solution for those with limited warehouse space who need timely access to their films, whether they are supplied by the customer or by PennPac.
#2 – Flexibility
We provide roll slit service for a broad range of customer-supplied flexible packaging films including BOPP films, polyester films, cast PP films, metalized films, and specialty films (forming/non-forming, lidding, easy peel, plastic film sheets, etc).
PennPac can also handle different material thicknesses and widths:
- Web widths – 1” to 92”
- Outside diameter – up to 40”
- Core sizes – 3” or 6”
- Material thickness – .5 to 15 mil.
Customers can use our contract toll-slitting services for both small-quantity and large-quantity orders and for virtually any market application – from food and beverage to healthcare and beauty.
Our warehouse and slitting facilities in Manheim, PA, and Piedmont, SC are AIB certified, and our Manheim facility has earned SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification. Read more about our recent SQF certification, which is recognized by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) as one of the highest standards in food safety.
#3 – State-of-the-Art Equipment
PennPac has 10 state-of-the-art slitters/rewinders at our Manheim and Piedmont locations, as well as 2 sheeters. We can provide printed line registration for printed rolls as we also have customized roll labeling capabilities. We also do roll reclamation for damaged rolls.
The quality protocols that are in place on our equipment and throughout our facilities are based on the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) system, which many manufacturers use for compliance with GFSI audit schemes.
