One of the biggest reasons why customers trust PennPac for their supply of flexible packaging films is our focus on quality and continuous improvement. By investing in our internal resources – from our employees to our production capabilities – we are always improving for the good of our customers and our organization.
One significant investment we recently made is the purchase of additional equipment for our Piedmont, SC facility.
Q1 Brings Two New 6” Core Slitter Rewinder Machines to Our Fleet
We will be commissioning our third 92” center winder primary slitter with individual rewind arms for maximum flexibility. This asset will decrease converter web lead times and increase capacity for our toll/contract slitting services.
Customers who use PennPac for their contract film slitting needs can rely on machines with state-of-the-art control systems that provide optimum rewind roll structure for BOPP, PET, and CPP as well as coated films like metallized, AIOx, and SiOx barrier films.
For tolling customers with printed film needs, all of our slitting assets are equipped with BST CLS Pro 600 Edge Guide systems to ensure accurate registration tracking.
PennPac also has a new 6” core duplex slitter with a web width capability of 79”. This machine is designed with heavy-duty 6” ball lock shafts to promote high-quality roll formation, specifically for large OD narrow web-width label applications.
Rob Tiller, PennPac’s Managing Director, shared, “All of these new investments will bring our total slitter rewinder machine count to 14 across both our Manheim and Piedmont facilities. From salvage roll activities to printed film, converter webs, narrow webs, and sheeting, we truly have it all covered.”
The Best Equipment Backed By Quality-Centric Processes
Producing quality flexible packaging films using our state-of-the-art equipment requires a high level of quality-centric processes and protocols. PennPac has a number of programs and processes in place to support our quality and food safety management systems. This ensures that we continually meet or exceed industry standards.
Our quality protocols are based on the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) system. This is a globally recognized method used to identify and manage food safety-related risks. Many of today’s top manufacturers use the HAACP system as the foundation for their programs and compliance with GFSI audits. Learn more about our commitment to quality.
Decreased Lead Times, Increased Capacity
Besides achieving a high level of quality in our flexible packaging films, our recent investment in additional equipment also helps to decrease our lead times and increase our production capacity.
Customers using our contract film slitting or custom roll slitting can benefit from industry-leading delivery times of 10 business days, or less. And customers who are enrolled in our Inventory Stocking Program receive next-day releases.
